One of the most important parts of surgical intervention is the rehabilitation required after surgery. It only takes a couple of days of immobility before a body part becomes stiff and sore. Typically, protocols for rehabilitation are broken into three or four phases (depending on the surgery).
The specific rehabilitation protocol for your surgery will depend on instructions outlined by your surgeon. Here we will highlight a broad example of post surgery care with Physiotherapy@Woodbridge.
Our physiotherapists’ will help control your pain and inflammation through modern manual therapy techniques, dry needling, shockwave therapy, deep tissue massage, and kinesio taping.
Moist heat and electortherapies will help you relax at the end of treatment. Exercise prescription and education will help with rehabilitation. We will also teach correct posture, and educate you on work station setup so that you will prevent future problems.
Whether it be lifting technique improvement, education programs or workstation setups, your skilled physiotherapist is able to offer adequate advice and education to manage or prevent pain and discomfort with work.
