Derek is an awesome physiotherapist! After a severe rotator cuff injury, I found Derek and he managed to alleviate all the pain I’d been suffering with for many months. He also set me up with a strengthening program and my shoulder is now in great shape 🙂 Derek is very personable and has a wealth of knowledge and skills. The dry needling he is accredited in and used in my treatment was key to my pain relief and ultimate recovery. Derek has helped me with knee problems that I’ve had for almost 2 years now. Derek is an exceptional healthcare professional who is approachable, patient and very knowledgeable when developing appropriate treatment plans that cater to individuals needs. I recently started therapy for a frozen shoulder and he introduced me to alternative techniques (i.e. shockwave therapy) to complement traditional therapy as well as exercises in which I can do independently. My recovery process will be a slow one so it was important that I find a dedicated Physiotherapist in my area to provide the ongoing care that I will need. In addition, Derek’s sessions are never rushed and his availability is extremely flexible with weekend and late evening appointments.

I train at a Cross-fit gym for a few months . I was injured twice and I had physio so many times with very little improvement. One Friday night I hurt my calf playing soccer and I was in so much pain. The next day it was still unbearable. None of the physiotherapist that I usually go to was available. I Googled to find out which clinic was opened and was willing to help me the same day. That’s when I met Derek. He was amazing . After 2 treatments I was feeling so much better. I went to Physiotherapy@woodbridge with back pain making it difficult for me to sleep, sit, walk or stand without serious pain. I experienced big improvements after my first visit. Before my first appointment I was concerned that I might need some sort of medical treatment, possibly surgery. After a few visits Derek taught me how to take care of my back with some simple exercises I can do on my own, which I can always use in the future if the pain returns. The place was clean, professional and followed all necessary precautions for Covid-19. Overall experience was excellent.

I found Derek by searching online. I read all the good reviews and decided to give him a try. It was a right decision. Derek is really knowledgable. He discussed the best options to treat my pain (thumb, wrist, forearm and shoulder) at length before starting out. He applied different treatment techniques to ensure optimal results. I initially came here for vestibular rehabilitation therapy for vertigo in pregnancy. I have been seeing Derek weekly for over 3 months now. My vertigo has resolved and Derek has also been treating me for other issues that I have in my pregnancy, such as headaches, back pain, and plantar fasciitis. I have the utmost gratitude to Derek for the treatment I have received and the relief I have experienced. He is always so nice and pleasant to work with. He is very knowledgeable and thorough with his assessments and explanations. I find his approach and treatment have been very effective and well-targeted, and I can feel the effect and relief right away after every session. He does an amazing trigger point release treatment for my headaches. The exercises that he suggests for me also have been helping a lot with pain and discomfort that I have been having in this pregnancy. If you have never experienced a severe onset of vertigo, I hope you never do. If you have, you can totally relate. I was fortunate to find Physiotherapy @Woodbridge. Mr. Derek Mernagh is one of a few Physiotherapists that understands and treats vestibular disorders. I was able to get an appointment quickly. That same afternoon I started feeling better. After the second session I was able to get on with my normal life again. The clinic is bright and clean, and follows all Covid-19 protocols. Highly recommend this clinic.

I called in at 7.50pm to book my first ever physio therapy appointment after suffering from the arm’s pain for more than a month and strong painkillers didn’t work on me. After reading the excellent reviews about Derek regarding his skills and clinic…. It’s all true. This is my first visit to address my ankylosis spondylitis that causes me pain in my spine. I’ll be seeing him twice a week as my first visit did give me relief and hence had a better sleep that evening. He is very knowledgeable and listens to you. I’m looking forward to my recovery of symptoms. I’m also being treated by Tony. The sessions are an additional way for me to address my A.S. Tony is helping to reduce the tight and stiff muscles in my legs that would cause pain to my spine and leg cramping. Both Derek and Tony’s expertise has helped me maintain staying pain free and sleeping well.

I started treatment at this quiet gem in September 2022. I had sustained an injury from someone backing into me with their car. A battery of xrays revealed no broken or cracked bones. Soft tissue damage was suspected. Unfortunately, my regular medical service failed to meet my needs. Also, I was without any care or advice for most of the summer so I was in a lot of pain and had difficulty walking and moving around. This Physio/treatment centre took me in, provided an assessment and treatment. What a difference on my condition! I am so pleased with their services! Took my mother for a few issues, as soon as we walked in the office we knew we had found the right physiotherapist. Derek went through my mothers initial consultation, Derek explained everything to us, came up with a game plan, and started to do laser therapy. I’ve been seeing Tony (RMT) for a few months now and I’ve been happy with the results. I’ve had constant upper back and neck stiffness and have been jumping from RMT to RMT. The first time I went to Tony, he did an assessment and said I basically need a full body reset and suggested coming every week for 4 weeks and then we would re-assess. I thought it was excessive at the time but couldn’t be happier with the result. My stiffness is pretty much gone and he’s also helped with my mobility as well. I’m now going about once every 3 weeks and I come out feeling refreshed each time. Tony has also provided me with stretches to do at home, which has been very useful. The facility is well located, lots of parking and it’s clean and bright. Bookings are simple and they take of insurance submission as well, which makes things easier. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

I dislocated my knee a couple years ago and did not see a physiotherapist so I had reoccurring knee pain. I ended up injuring my knee again and decided to do physio with Dr. Banwait. After a few weeks of treatment, all of my knee problems have all gone away after years of being in discomfort. All of the staff members there are really nice and accommodating, the location is very well taken care of, and the doctors are always on time! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone/ will be returning if I ever have any other injuries!

After sustaining a serious sports injury I had to have surgery to repair a torn tricep muscle. Shortly there after I started at Physiotherapy@Woodbridge. When I walked through the door on my first day for my consultation I had zero range of motion and absolutely no strength in the arm. Derek and his incredible team devised a plan and worked tirelessly, week after week, employing a variety of techniques, to help me regain range of motion and strength in my arm. There were times when I wanted to give up, and throw in the towel but they were steadfast in their commitment to helping me get my arm back to pre-injury functionality. I will be forever grateful for all their hard work. I can happily say my arm is as good as new and I’m back to living life to the fullest. I couldn’t recommend this clinic and Dr. Mandeep enough. I came to the clinic due to what I thought was a knee issue that persisted for a few days. I had the pleasure of being tortured (I mean treated) by Derek when he introduced me to dry needling in order to help with my muscle tightness and pain. He was quick, efficient, and surprisingly effective! So much so that after my first “torture” session, I found myself actually requesting it in future appointments. Who would have thought that pain relief could come with a side of slightly twisted therapy? I also had the opportunity to work with Dr. Mandeep to get my custom orthotics. He was very knowledgeable, personable and took the time to answer all of my questions. Derek and the whole team were super friendly. Suffered with leg pain for a while . It was pretty bad keeping me up at night. I started treatment with Derek, I cant believe with his treatment plan specifically for me, I am now pain free sleep better at night & that was all done in a short period of time. I highly recommend home if u want your pain to be history. He knows his stuff he tailors to u,a very good listener & u need that in order to get to the bottom of the pain. 5 star definitely. When I came in for my appt with Derek, I was in pain and limping.. I have been seeing him for a few weeks and what a difference it has made.. He uses a number of different methods to get to the results and my time with him has allowed me to comfortably get back to hikes, salsa, and other exercise. He’s on my speed dial.. I recommend him for anyone who needs a good physiotherapist.

I was visiting a different physio place for the last month and had an irky feeling that the healing process isn’t quite effective. So I gave up on them and searched around to find the Woodbridge Physio Clinic, and lo and behold, on my first visit I already felt better. Derek is second to none unbelievable! I was in pain for over 8 months 2 orthopedics surgeons later stating they cant do anything for me just live with knee pain until I met Derek! Really good work here! Staff are nice and professional and place is clean, bright and organized. I have appointments with Tony, their rmt. My wife and I have been seeing Derek and Tony for over a year now. The facility is clean and well maintained, ample parking and easy to access. Their receptionist, Carolyn, is friendly and very accommodating. Derek is an amazing Physio Therapist! He helped me with my back pain which developed from many years sitting in front of a computer working. He prescribed the right exercises to keep up with the treatment and it was very effective. Occasionally I get dizzy from ear crystals and I was very happy I found this clinic. In 2 visits, my dizziness was gone.
